Mimika – A total of 300 joint TNI/Polri personnel have been deployed to maintain security in the process of determining the district level vote counting results which is taking place at the Emeneme Yauware Building. Mimika Police Chief, AKBP I Gede Putra, SH, SIK, MH, emphasized that his party had made preparations by providing troops to ensure the smooth running of the plenary determination on Wednesday (13/3/2024).
“We are carrying out this security with the aim that today’s determination process can run smoothly without obstacles or disturbances,” he said.
The Police Chief hopes that all parties, including the community and all constituents, will unite to monitor the process of this activity until it is completed without any obstacles.
“From a time perspective, the implementation of the recapitulation at the Mimika Regency level is too late and this is affecting the calculation process at the provincial level. Therefore, let’s work together to ensure that this process runs smoothly,” he added.
Furthermore, the Police Chief explained that the security pattern implemented included tight security at the Emeneme Building as well as patrols and mobility in the Mimika area.
“We are implementing this security to prevent interference from certain parties who have the potential to disrupt the progress of today’s plenary determination,” he said.
He also emphasized the importance of taking existing legal channels for parties who are dissatisfied with the process.
“We invite all parties to conduct politics wisely and maturely. There are mechanisms that have been provided, please use these mechanisms and we will ensure that all processes run according to applicable regulations,” emphasized the Police Chief.
