Jayapura – Joint TNI-Polri officers succeeded in crippling 1 (one) Armed Criminal Group (KKB) person dead and arrested 2 (two) KKB members.
Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police, Commissioner Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom., when confirmed, confirmed the incident that occurred at Kali Braza II, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Thursday (22/02/2024) at around 12.05 WIT.
The Head of Public Relations said that when personnel from the TNI Task Force Yon 7 Marines were carrying out aerial monitoring using drones, they saw movement from the KKB and were observed carrying a long-barreled firearm.
“At 12.05 WIT there was contact between the TNI and KKB for one hour, then a joint team from the Yahukimo Police and the Cartenz Peace Task Force under the leadership of Padal III Cartenz Peace Gakkum Task Force AKP Budi Basrah, S.H and the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for the Yahukimo Police, Inspector Dr. “Tantu Usman, S.H, M.H, went to the crime scene for sterilization and evacuation,” said the Head of Public Relations.
During the firefight, security forces were able to immobilize one KKB person and died and 2 KKB people with the initials MH (15) and BG (15) were arrested while they were running away.
“The Joint Team of Yahukimo Police and Cartenz Peace Task Force moved from the Kali Braza Crime Scene to Yahukimo Police, bringing 2 people who were detained for further examination and took 1 MD to Dekai Regional Hospital,” said the Head of Public Relations.
The evidence that was secured included 2 (two) SS1 magazines, 74 (seventy four) rounds of ammunition with Cal. 5.56 mm, 1 (one) noken with the Morning Star motif, Rp. 50,000,- in the amount of Rp. 2,950,000, Rp. 100,000, 1 (one) unit of black OPPO brand cellphone and 1 (one) black OPPO brand cellphone.
“Currently the 2 (two) people who were arrested during the gunfight are currently being investigated and investigated by the Yahukimo Police Criminal Investigation Unit,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Yahukimo Police Chief AKBP Heru Hidayanto, S.Sos., M.M, said that currently joint TNI-Polri officers are intensifying patrols around Yahukimo City.
