Jayapura – Chairman of the Port Numbay Traditional Community Institution (LMA) George Arnold Awie appealed to all the wider community in Papua Province to be able to exercise political rights in the 2024 Election and not be part of the white group (abstention).
“I am George Arnold Awie, Chairman of LMA Port Numbay who is also Onodafi Nafri. I hereby appeal to all Papuan people in general and especially people who live in Jayapura City. Please remember that February 14 2024 is presidential and legislative election day,” he said. in Jayapura City, Friday 9 February 2024.
“For this reason, I appeal to everyone to flock to the polling stations to exercise our political rights, to vote according to our own conscience,” he appealed.
He also asked all levels of society in Bumi Cenderawasih together with the TNI and Polri security forces to maintain a safe and peaceful security and social order.
“We also appeal to all of us to maintain security and order before and after the presidential, legislative and regional head elections, to maintain security and stability so that all community activities can continue as usual,” he asked.
The former Head of the Jayapura Regency Tourism Office also invited the public to support all government programs, especially in development in all fields to advance community welfare.
“I also appeal to the community so that we carry out our respective duties and roles by supporting all programs that will be implemented by the government, we support and implement all existing programs for the welfare of our community,” he said.
“And as good citizens, we must participate in government programs, especially those related to presidential, legislative and regional head elections, because this is for the future of our nation. The future of our children and grandchildren. That’s all and thank you,” he concluded.
