Jayapura – Intan Jaya Police Chief AKBP Afrizal Asri said that currently the activities of residents of Sugapa, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, are gradually recovering.
From monitoring results, residents have started to carry out their activities, although they have not yet returned to normal, because there are still people who feel afraid due to the shooting carried out by the KKB on Friday (19/1).
“It is true that community activity seems to be gradually recovering, although many kiosk owners still serve by simply removing a few boards covering their stalls,” said Intan Jaya Police Chief AKBP Afrizal Asri, Friday (26/01/2024).
When asked about flight activity at Bilorai Airport, the Intan Jaya Police Chief admitted that even though his party had allowed the airport to operate, airline companies were still delaying flights to Sugapa.
“What is certain is that we have given permission to fly to Sugapa, but airline companies have postponed or canceled general flights,” said AKBP Afrizal Asri.
The Police Chief hopes that security will soon be restored so that activities can quickly return to normal and people will no longer feel afraid.
As a result of the shooting carried out since Friday (19/1), a Brimob member died, namely Bripda Alfando Steven Karamoy.
No civilians were injured in the shooting carried out by the KKB, although several of their houses were burned, added Intan Jaya Police Chief AKBP Afrizal Asri.
