Egianus Kogoya Asked to Release Pilot Philip Without Conditions

Timika – The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya has not yet released the Susi Air plane pilot, Capt. Philip Mark Mehrtens, who has been held hostage since February 7 2023.

The actions of the Egianus Kogoya group were excessive and inhumane, so they received attention from various groups, including political party leaders in Papua.

“I’m talking about the taking hostage of air truck pilot Capt. Philip Mark from a humanitarian perspective,” said Chairman of the Hanura Party DPD, DR. Kenius Kogoya in a statement in Jayapura.

It was emphasized that Egianus Kogoya had no right at all to detain Captain Philip.

“He (captain Philip) is an ordinary human being, an ordinary person and he has a family so anything like that is not justified,” stressed Kenius.

“That’s why I, as the young generation heir to this country, ask Brother Egianus Kogoya to release Captain Philip without conditions,” continued Kogoya.

It was explained that December is the holy month of Christians where we celebrate the birthday of the Savior who came to reconcile us sinful people.

“Therefore, we want to celebrate Christmas for all Christians in a peaceful atmosphere,” he said.

Kenius Kogoya also appealed to groups in the Papuan wilderness, especially brother Egianus Kogoya, to immediately release Captain Philip.
