JAYAPURA – The body of Bharada Boniface Jawa, a Brimob personnel who died in a firefight will be buried in his hometown.
This was stated by the Head of the Cartenz 2023 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force AKBP Dr Bayu Suseno, Thursday (23/11) morning via short message.
Bayu said, the victim’s body will be sent from Mimika to Jakarta and then to NTT.
“This afternoon from Timika using a Batik Air plane to Jakarta, then tomorrow on Friday (24/11) from Jakarta to NTT and he will be buried in his hometown in Bajawa, Flores,” said Bayu.
Meanwhile, Bharatu Rani Yohanes, the personnel who was shot, is currently still undergoing treatment in Timika.
“Bharatu Yohanes has undergone surgery and is conscious,” he explained.
It was previously reported that the Cartenz Peace Task Force group was attacked by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) on Wednesday (22/11) afternoon.
In the attack that resulted in gunfire, two personnel from the Cartenz Peace Task Force from the NTT Regional Police Mobile Brigade were shot, one of whom was Bharada Boniface Jawa who died. (*)
