Kapuspen TNI: I Hope Happy News Will Come Out These Few Days

Jakarta – Efforts to free Susi Air pilot Philip Mark Mehrtens, who has been held hostage by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) since February 2023, are still ongoing.

From the Indonesian National Army or TNI, said that the release of the pilot was expected to be completed in the coming days.

“But I hope that in the next few days the latest news will come out that will make us all happy,” said Head of the TNI Information Center or Kapuspen, Admiral Julius Widjojono, in the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, Thursday, September 7 2023.

However, Julius did not reveal whether the good news was about the successful release. He said the rescue effort was still being carried out. His party has taken various ways by approaching them to free Captain Philip. However, the KKB was still uncooperative.

“We just pray. It’s still in the process (of being released). Hopefully this week, hopefully yes,” he said.

Previously, the Regional Military Commander XVII/Cenderawasih, Maj. Gen. TNI Izak Pangemanan, confirmed that the hiding place of the KKB led by Egianus Kogoya had been discovered. However, his party is still waiting for the intention to release the Susi Air pilot who was being held hostage.
