Papuan Indigenous Leaders: Murder of Mrs. Michelle Kurisi Doga Is a Gross Human Rights Violation

Jayapura- Papuan Indigenous Leader, Herman Alebrt Yoku expressed his condolences for the killing of Mrs. Michelle Kurisi Doga, a Papuan women’s activist, by armed criminal groups in Jayawijaya-Wamena, Central Papua, on Wednesday, 9/20/23.

“Mrs. Michelle Kurisi Doga is an ordinary civilian and is a humanitarian activist so that the murder committed by the KKB against her is a gross human rights violation,” he said.

He continued, To Mr. Egianus Kogoya, your struggle has no existence, for that to law enforcement officials, we support taking firm action against the KKB group in Papua because the law does not look at small or large, red or white or yellow.

“Brother Egianus Kogoya, Remember, Your actions are Gross Human Rights Violations because of the many human lives you have lost. At this time I am speaking to provide support to law enforcement officials to strictly follow up on this Armed Criminal Group.” He said.

He added, brother Egianus Kogoya and your group remember that, your status is an Indonesian citizen for that your struggle will never succeed. What you are doing violates the Law of Religion and Government Law on this World.
