Jayapura – In an effort to help fire victims at Kompas Pasar Ikebo, Dogiyai Regency, the Dogiyai Police conducted data collection on the victims’ families on Tuesday, July 18 2023. This activity was carried out by the Dogiyai Police as part of post-incident monitoring and data collection.
The Makasar tribal chief, who represents all tribal chiefs in Kompas Pasar, submitted a request to the Dogiyai District Government to provide housing assistance to the victims affected by the fire. He hopes that the burden they face can be lightened a little with this assistance.
The tribal chief also emphasized the importance of the local government’s attention to development in the Kompas Pasar Moanemani area, given the frequent disasters that occur there.
Head of Intelligence Unit for Dogiyai Police Intelligence Unit, Bripka Karlos, explained that this data collection was carried out at the request of the leadership and to continue coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) who requested the data. The data collected will later be used as the basis for providing basic food and cash assistance by the Ministry of Social Affairs and local governments.
The monitoring activities carried out lasted until 12.00 WIT and took place in a safe and controlled situation. Until now, security and order in the Dogiyai Police area after the incident on July 13, 2023 are still well maintained.
Apart from that, the Dogiyai Police also collected data on material losses experienced by the people who were victims of the arson at Kompas Pasar Moanemani. This data collection was carried out on Tuesday, 17 July 2023, starting at 09.00 WIT.
The list of recorded material losses for houses and kiosks includes various home and business owners in the area of 71 buildings. This material loss reached billions of rupiah, with a number of houses and businesses destroyed by the fire.
However, there are several important notes in this data collection. Some victims of arson cannot yet be recorded because they were not present when the data collection was carried out. In addition, the library office and state assets as well as the empowerment of women and children cannot be recorded completely because they are state assets.
