Jayapura- The Papua Kirminal Armed Group (KKB), shot at a Smart Air plane with code PK-SNO carrying seven Peace Cartenz personnel at Homeyo Airport, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, Tuesday / 7/18/2023.
Papua Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Mathius Fakhiri, acknowledged the shooting carried out by the KKB against the Smart Air plane when the plane was about to land in Homeyo. The shooting occurred at around 07.15 WIT and six shots were heard.
The Papua Police Chief, expressed his hope that the presence of the Cartenz Peace Task Force personnel would strengthen the Homeyo Police Station which was previously attacked and shot at by the KKB on July 16. In addition to the attack on the Homeyo Police Station, the KKB also stole one of the Police’s organic firearms.
The Papua Police Chief hopes that the community can help and hand back the stolen firearms so that they are not misused.
