Jayapura- Papua Police Brimob member, Bripka Laode Imran, was seriously injured after being shot while securing the riots in Dogiyai, Central Papua.
The victim has been evacuated and referred to Jakarta to receive intensive treatment for his injuries. The evacuation was carried out using a Batik Air plane and the victim was accompanied by doctors and nurses from Bhayangkara Hospital Jayapura on Sunday, July 16, 2023.
According to Papua Police’s Head of Medical Services, Kombes Nariyana, the victim has been evacuated to Sukanto Police Hospital in Jakarta to receive further treatment related to the injuries he suffered from being hit by an arrow while securing the riots in Dogiyai.
“Before being evacuated to Jakarta, the victim was treated at Nabire Hospital and Bhayangkara Hospital in Jayapura,” said the Head of Papua Police Medical Services.
He continued, When he arrived at Bhayangkara Hospital, the victim was in a faint condition due to an arrow stab wound with a length of about 130-150 cm. At Bhayangkara Hospital, the victim was given several therapies including oxygen installation, condition monitoring, catheter installation, and administration of intravenous fluids and antibiotics.
The unrest in Dogiyai is known to have caused 69 buildings to catch fire.
