Wamena- Jayawijaya Police Chief AKBP HERI Wibowo, S.IK attended the destruction of evidence in the form of firearms and ammunition at the Jayawijaya District Attorney’s Office, Jalan Ahmad Yani Wamena, Wednesday (11/07) morning.
The activity which was attended directly by PJ. Governor of Papua Mountains Nikolaus Kondomo, S.H., M.H was also attended by the Dandim 1702 Jwy Lt. Col. CPN Athenius Murib, S.H., MH, Head of the Jayawijaya District Attorney Salman, S.H, Danyon 756 Wms Major Inf Gunawan Wibisono, S.H, Danki Brimob Yon D AKP Budi S Basrah, Christian T Wamena Prison, Head of Satpol PP Jayawijaya Rustam and Wamena Junaedi Aziz District Court.
The evidence of firearms and ammunition that was destroyed is evidence of a general criminal act that has permanent legal force (Inkracht Van Gewicjde) from the 2022 case.
The evidence destroyed was in the form of 2 (two) long-barreled firearms of the M16 A2 type; 1 (one) GLM 40 mm (mounted on a long-barreled firearm of the M16 A2 type); 1 (one) long-barreled firearm of the FN FAL type, 1 (one) long-barreled firearm of the Shotgun type MOD 586 80910; 1 (one) long-barreled firearm M2 Field Shotgun; 1 (one) Pistol Type Firearm Made of Iron With Handle Coated with Wood Material; 1 (one) M-4 Type Long Barrel Firearm; 1 (one) Long Barrel Pcp Air Rifle Brand Omen V2 along with an air rifle bag; 8 (eight) magazines and 919 (nine hundred and nineteen) rounds of ammunition.
In his remarks, the Head of the Jayawijaya District Prosecutor’s Office said that as previously reported, for today we are specializing in weapons and ammunition, this evidence is the case for 2022 – 2023 which has permanent legal force.
“Actually there is still other evidence, but we are specializing in those that have permanent legal force and I thank Danki Mobile Brigade and its personnel for being willing to help us in this matter,” he said.
On the other hand, the Jayawijaya Police Chief stated that these cases of possession of firearms and ammunition were several cases being handled by several Polres such as the Yalimo Police where the cases had been transferred to the Attorney General’s Office so today we have witnessed the destruction of this evidence by the Attorney General’s Office.
