Jayapura – Negotiations on the threat of the Susi Air pilot sent by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) to the Government of Indonesia are entering their last day.
Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Mathius Faakhiri said he was still in touch with the Egianus Kogoya family to help negotiate the release of Captain Phillip Mark Mehrtens.
“We have taken steps and I have also met with all parties as well as religious leaders, community leaders to be able to negotiate with the Egianus Kogoya group,” said the Papua Police Chief.
Faakhiri also stated that he was ready to comply with the KKB’s request to hand over an amount of money, as long as the pilot was released.
“Money will be prepared and handed over to Egianus Kogoya as long as the hostages are released,” he explained
His party also hopes that Egianus Kogoya will not have the heart to shoot dead the Susi Air pilot who is being held hostage.
