Jayapura – Currently the Papua Police DVI Team is carrying out efforts to identify the bodies of the six victims of the crash of the Sam Air PK – SMW aircraft which took place at Bhayangkara Hospital, Jayapura City, Tuesday (27/6).
Commissioner of Police Dr. Nariyana, S.Ked., M.Kes as the Head of the Papua Police Health Department said that his party had started the identification process starting tonight because it might take a lot of time, considering the condition of the victims who were mostly burned and incomplete.
“Judging from the cases experienced by the victims, it is likely that we will carry out a primary identification process which includes fingerprints, then teeth and DNA or what is commonly called Post Mortem, but before that is done, we start with the labeling and data collection process first,” he explained.
The Head of Dokkes added that the process of identifying the victims was not only carried out by the Papua Police DVI Bid Dokkes Team, but his party was also assisted by the Inafis Team and the Papua Police Crime Directorate.
“Of course we will do this optimally so that it can be resolved quickly and get good results so that the victim’s body can then be given to the family for burial,” he said.
He also hopes for the support and understanding of family members so that the identification process carried out by his party can be resolved properly in a short time.
For information, the six bodies had previously arrived from Wamena at the Silas Papare Sentani Lanud Base Ops, Jayapura Regency using a Trigana Air plane at around 16.30 WIT this afternoon which were then handed over to H. Wagus Hidayat, SE., SH as the Head of PT. Semuwa Group and taken to Bhayangkara Hospital for the identification process.
