Jayapura – Responding to problems related to the issue of the entry of a group of people into the flats of Cenderawasih University, which is not their right, Barisan Merah Putih Republik Indonesia (BMP RI) Papua as the government’s partner in this case the Uncen educational institution, firmly rejects the actions taken.
This was confirmed by the Chairman of the Indonesian BMP through the Secretary General of the Indonesian BMP for Papua Ali Albert Kabiay, at the RI BMP secretariat office on Jalan Waena – Sentani city limits, Jayapura City, Papua.
“What they did was actually included in a criminal act, namely entering someone’s house without permission from the owner, especially by destroying it. This is an act that violates the laws and regulations in the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia,” explained Ali.
Ali further said that Barisan Merah Putih rejects the actions that have been carried out by the group, We encourage and support the security forces, especially the police, to take firm action and take legal action against the group.
On this occasion, BMP RI issued a statement regarding the entry of a group of people without permission from the University and BMP supports all actions taken by government officials to carry out policies to create a safe and conducive social and security system on campus and its surroundings.
The attitude statement is:
- We fully support government officials, in this case educational institutions, especially Cenderawasih University, in rearranging student dormitories or flats.
- We, the red and white ranks, also encourage law enforcement officials, in this case the police, to take firm action and process anyone who damages the uncen flat, let alone dare to occupy a flat that is not their right.
- We, together with the government, are red and white, ready to support government programs, especially to build a young generation that loves Indonesia.
- We ask all Papuan people, especially Papuan students not to be easily provoked by various news narratives or issues played by certain parties or groups to divide the unity and integrity of fellow citizens in Papua.
