Timika – Papuan community leader Luki Makahena, S.Sos., M.Sc. said the hostage of the Susi Air Pilot by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya was very much against the Papuan icon, namely creating a sense of security and love of peace.
As Chair of the Timika Early Warning Community Forum, Central Papua, Luki Makahena said that Papua has an icon that must be manifested by actions that maintain peace.
“The Papua icon is love for peace and compassion. Things like this should be manifested in our actions and deeds that create peace,” explained Luki when interviewed in Timika, Tuesday (06/06/2023).
His party also appreciates the TNI-Polri security forces and related stakeholders in Kab. Nduga, Papua Mountains because until now it is safe and under control.
“I appreciate the synergy and good cooperation between the TNI-Polri and the government of all residents of Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains, so far it is still under control, safe and conducive,” he added.
It is known that the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya has taken pilot Susi Air Capt as hostage. Philip Mark Marthens, who has now been walking for 4 months since being taken hostage on 7 February.
Furthermore, his party also regrets the actions of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) because it has affected the development of the Papua Highlands Province.
“This action really disrupts the perspective of development in Papua, many things have happened so that all development activities that should be promoted in order to build equity are disrupted due to the actions of the KKB,” continued Luki.
Luki also hopes that the taking of the Susi Air pilot will become the responsibility of all of us and not only the TNI-Polri but local government stakeholders and community and religious leaders in Nduga because the KKB’s actions have greatly harmed the interests of Papua and appealed to KKB Egianus to hand over the pilot intact and safely.
