Jayapura – The Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) continues to spread threats following the arrest of its members. They demanded the police release their members.
In order to respond to the threat of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Kab. Yapen, the Papua Police sent Brimob Troops to secure areas that were considered vulnerable.
The Deputy Chief of Regional Police for Papua, Brigadier General Ramdani Hidayat explained that after the KKB members were arrested in Yapen, his party received reports of threats that the Papuan KKB would carry out activities in the Yapen area.
“To anticipate and maintain security in the Yapen area, we sent a number of troops to strengthen security against threats from armed criminal groups,” said Police Brigadier General Ramdhani.
Apart from that, Brigadier General Ramdani also said that the TNI-Polri themselves had also responded to the threat and intensified security patrols.
“Information from Wadansat Brimob, troops have been sent there,” he said, Friday (2/6/2023).
Previously, the threat started with the arrest of a KKB member in Yapen on May 15, 2023.
