Jayapura – The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) is acting again. This time the KKB tried to disrupt security again by carrying out attacks on security forces during patrols in KKB-prone areas, namely in the Nogolait Complex, Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Central Papua, Friday (26/05).
Head of Papua Police Public Relations Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom, when confirmed Friday (26/05) evening, confirmed the incident.
The Head of Public Relations explained the chronology of the firefight, namely on Friday (26/05) at approximately 14.35 wit when the team patrolled the Nogolait Complex in Kenyam District, the personnel spontaneously received a barrage of gunfire from the KKB.
“There were no casualties when the incident occurred and one (1) Tambora Rantis car unit was shot at the front of the car,” said the Head of Public Relations.
Kabid Humas said that currently the Nduga Police, assisted by the Cartenz Peace Task Force and the TNI, are increasing patrols and surveillance to areas prone to KKB crossings.
“Currently the Kenyam City area, Nduga is still relatively safe and conducive, TNI-Polri officers control the security situation after disturbances by the KKB and are still conducting patrols to prevent similar incidents,” concluded Kombes Benny.
