Timika – Papua Community Leader Yosep Temorubun, S.H appealed to the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) who were hostages of Susi Air pilots in the Nduga Regency area. His party asked the KKB to immediately hand over the pilot and return it to the government or apparatus.
“We call on the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) to immediately hand over the Susi Air pilot and immediately return it to the government, in this case the TNI-Polri apparatus,” said Yosep, Monday (01/05/2023).
The KKB’s actions violated human rights and international humanitarian law. for threatening the safety and health of the pilot who has been detained since February 7.
Yosep also hopes that there will be cooperation from all parties in Central Papua to resolve this problem peacefully. He asked the central government, local governments, women leaders, religious leaders, and indigenous peoples to carry out communication diplomacy with the KKB.
“We hope that from Central Papua for the cooperation of all stakeholders, be it the central government, local government, women leaders, religious leaders to carry out communication diplomacy with the KKB to immediately return the Susi Air pilot who is currently being held by the KKB,” Yosep said.
Previously, Susi Air Pilot Philip Mark Mehrtens was taken hostage by KKB when he landed in Paro, Nduga Regency, on 7 February. The KKB then burned the plane.
