Jayapura- Papuan Indigenous Youth Leader, Yan Cristian Arebo, SH. MH., supports the legal process carried out by the police in the case of the Papua Regional Police against Victor Yeimo, the mastermind of the 2019 riots in the city of Jayapura and several other areas in Papua., Friday/21/04/2023.
Yan Arebo said that Victor Yeimo’s brother, who was the mastermind behind the 2019 Papua riots, who is currently undergoing a trial process at the class 1A district court in Jayapura City, should receive a punishment that is commensurate with his actions. Because of his actions, people became victims in 2019.
“This is pure evidence of law enforcement being carried out by the Papuan regional police against brother Victor Yeimo, there is no criminalization, politicization, human rights violations and so on,” said Yan Cristian Arebo.
He continued, As a traditional Papuan youth leader, he really hopes that Victor Yeimo will comply with applicable laws and continue to carry out the legal process properly so that whatever punishment is given is appropriate according to his actions.
