Dekai – Along with the restoration of security in Yahukimo after a number of incidents which resulted in disruption of flight activities. Today, Wednesday (5/4/23), two airlines have opened their routes to Dekai City again.
This can be seen from the flight schedules from Trigana Air and Wings Air which have been re-issued, as well as the atmosphere at Nop Goliat Dekai Airport which seems to be again packed with people who want to depart or arrive from Jayapura.
According to the schedule, Trigana Air will start operating today, while Wings Air will operate on Monday (10/4).
Not only Trigana Air, Wings Air also postponed flight routes to Dekai for an unspecified time. With the security situation improving, the two airlines are now opening routes to Yahukimo again.
When asked about security, Yahukimo Police Chief AKBP Arief Kristanto, S.H.,S.I.K., M.Sc., said that Yahukimo’s situation, especially Dekai City, had recovered. The Yahukimo Police in collaboration with the TNI are ready to guarantee the security of flight activities.
“The Yahukimo situation is now gradually recovering and we have prepared TNI-Polti personnel at Nop Goliat Dekai Airport, to provide security for flight activities,” said the police chief.
In addition to security at the airport, his party also carried out security at a number of vital objects.
“We also continue to improve preventive activities, namely by intensifying the Joint TNI-Polri Patrols and security at vital objects,” concluded AKBP Arief.
Previously, the incident in Yahukimo had received quite a lot of attention, one of which was the shooting by the KKB group on a plane belonging to Trigana Air, causing flight activities to stop at Yahukimo on (11/03).
