Jayapura – TNI and Polri officers continue to work to immediately free Susi Air Pilot Philip Mark Mahrtens who is being held hostage by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya in Papua.
Efforts to search and release the pilot also involve the community, especially in Nduga Regency.
Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri said various efforts were being made so that the New Zealand pilot was released safe and sound.
“The welfare of New Zealanders [Philip Mehrtens] who are at the center of this situation is our top priority,” Inspector General Fakhiri said in Jayapura, Papua, Wednesday (29/03).
The two-star general said various steps had been taken to free the pilot.
Currently, it has been examined carefully and carefully so that the release does not have an impact on other communities.
