Mimika- 15 construction workers of public health center building project and Paro medical residence were savely evacuated to Mimika Regency, Central Papua by the 2023 Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force. on wednesday 2nd of August 2023.
The workers were transported by using a helicopter belonging to the Nduga Police Regency by flying through some natural barrier which is very complicated, but The Cartenz Peace Ops Task Force 2023 has successfully conducted the process.
Regent of Nduga, Namia Gwijange when doing a press conference at the mimika police regency office, said :
“The Nduga tribal people have been existed for a long time but now they are dissipated by the duga people themselves, ‘now where are we going to stay?, the Gwijangge clan is only in Nduga while residents of Kogoya, Tabuni and other residents are anywhere in Papua.’
I want to develop the area, but whenever I take a step, I’m always blocked and constantly disturbed. I am very sad I don’t know when do I have a progress for Nduga people development.
I would like to thank all those who have helped and responsible in helping the pilots who are in custody. pilots is the profession of heart and soul which is dedicated to serve us in Papua. This is very extraordinary. If there is no pilot, what do we use to build villages and serve the community health? because the only one that can be used is air transportation (aircraft), if the plane was burned, the builders were hijacked,.. then who would help us here (Nduga District) The church doesn’t teach to kills and committing crimes, I hope distractions like this is to stop.”
“I was appointed by the Minister of Home Affairs on 27 May 2022 as acting Regent of Nduga, in my leadership there is no raping, persecution, murder but there is rumor spread by the spokesman for “TPN-PB Mr. Sebi Sabom it was spread that during my leadership as an official in the Regent of Nduga something happened as raping, persecution, massacre in Nduga district was not true which caused me lost my self-esteem as a child of Nduga/Son of the Region. Then hereby I clarified that the rumor was not true”
I ask for support from the people of Nduga, church figures, religious figures, altogether to save the pilot, because the pilot is kind and he came to serve us but we repay him with evil and that is bad, so I take this opportunity to ask Mr. Egianus Kogoya with his troops to immediately handed the pilot over to the local government because he didn’t do any crime.
Regarding 5 evacuated people by the plane are all safe and as a government representative I’m not afraid of anyone and the security forces will carry out the task of decisive action against the perpetrators. and the development project will keep going.
I am very sorry that in the villages there are no teachers to teach the children there. Meanwhile in the same place, the Deputy Chief of Police for Papua, Brigadier General Ramdani Hidayat said,
“We TNI / Polri have succeeded in evacuating the construction workers of the public health center and the Paro medical housing of Nduga Regency. Now they still checking up their health in Mimika District Hospital.”
