Jayapura – A civilian was stabbed by an unknown person in Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, Friday (3/2/2023). As a result, the victim suffered a stab wound to the left side of the head, the arm and 4 fingers were severed.
Kapolres Intan Jaya AKBP Afrizal Asri S.I.K when confirmed via telephone confirmed that there was an attack accompanied by the stabbing.
The chronology of the incident began when the victim was carrying out activities to repair motorbikes at his workshop at Simpang Palopo. At that time, the perpetrator was seen walking from the bottom of Bilogai Village towards Palopo Intersection.
Then the perpetrator approached the victim and suddenly stabbed him using a machete. The injured victim immediately ran to save himself behind the Kampung Bilogai tower.
“The victim was immediately taken by his colleague to the Intan Jaya Hospital and then evacuated to Nabire for further treatment,” he said, Friday (3/2/2023).
In addition, Afrizal Asri S.I.K explained that currently his party was investigating this incident by gathering witnesses who saw and knew about the incident.
“From the information obtained, the number of perpetrators is estimated to be one person. Currently the team is conducting in-depth exploration at the location. After the incident that occurred, the situation in Intan Jaya Regency was relatively conducive,” he concluded.
