MIMIKA – In an effort to strengthen synergy and build more harmonious communication with the press, the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force held a gathering and iftar (breaking of the fast) event with journalists in Mimika Regency, Central Papua, on Monday (March 16, 2026).
The event, which took place at Junsei Cafe, was attended by members of the Public Relations Task Force of the 2026 Cartenz Peace Operation, along with a number of journalists from various media outlets covering the Mimika area.
Starting at around 5:00 PM WIT, the event was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. In addition to serving as a moment to break the fast together, the activity was also utilized as a platform to strengthen relationships and coordination between the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force and the media, who have been strategic partners in delivering information to the public.
The Head of the 2026 Cartenz Peace Operation, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., expressed his appreciation for the active role of journalists in presenting objective and educational information to the public.
According to him, collaboration between security forces and the media plays an important role in maintaining security stability and creating a conducive situation in Papua.
“The media plays a vital role in delivering accurate information to the public. We appreciate our fellow journalists who have helped provide objective reporting, enabling the public to fully understand the situation and not be easily influenced by misinformation,” he stated.
A similar sentiment was also conveyed by the Deputy Head of the 2026 Cartenz Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., who emphasized the importance of maintaining good relations through open and constructive communication.
He noted that strong partnerships with the media will support the timely, accurate, and responsible dissemination of information regarding security conditions and activities in Papua.
“This gathering is an important momentum to strengthen communication and cooperation between security personnel and media colleagues. With good communication, we can work together to maintain a safe and conducive situation in Papua,” he said.
The gathering and iftar event proceeded smoothly and in a spirit of camaraderie. Through this activity, it is hoped that the harmonious relationship between the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force and the press in Mimika Regency will continue to be maintained, in order to support the delivery of accurate and reliable information to the public.
