Jayapura — Former President of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Cenderawasih University and prominent Papuan youth figure, Yops Itlay, called on all youths and students to remain focused on worship and positive activities throughout the month of December, amid various agendas that could potentially disrupt stability.
Speaking on Sunday (30/11), Yops emphasized that December should serve as a time to deepen spiritual reflection and prepare for the celebration of the birth of the Savior.
“To all youths and students, I urge you not to be influenced by agendas circulating this December. Let us focus on worship as we prepare to welcome the birth of the Savior,” he said.
Yops also encouraged every community element to work together in maintaining security and public order during the Christmas season. He underlined the importance of creating a peaceful and conducive environment for everyone’s comfort.
“I urge the public to maintain stability throughout December. To younger students and university students, focus on your semester exams, do not be easily provoked by irresponsible invitations, and help keep our environment safe and conducive,” he added.
He further stated that December should be embraced as a month of celebration and Christmas joy. Therefore, he reminded the community to stay calm, carry on with their usual activities, and not be swayed by issues that could disturb public peace.
