Puncak Jaya, Papua Pegunungan – Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz together with Puncak Jaya Police carried out an evacuation of the body of the deceased Misto, a motorcycle taxi driver who was shot by an Unknown Person, from Wundu Village, Dokome District, Regency. Puncak Jaya goes to RSUD Mulia, Wednesday (9/17/2025).
The evacuation started at 07.30 WIT when the team moved from RSUD Mulia to the scene. Upon arrival at Kampung Wundu at 08.30 WIT, the body was successfully evacuated and immediately brought back to RSUD Mulia. Arriving at the hospital at 09.30 WIT, the medical team conducted an examination and confirmed that the victim had a gunshot wound on the back of the neck through to the right jaw. From the x-ray results, no projectiles were found nesting in the victim’s body.
The late Misto alias Pak De Kumis is known to be born in Probolinggo on July 1, 1980 and resides in Usir Village, Mulia District. He works as a motorcycle taxi driver.
Items that were secured at the crime scene include one unit of Jupiter MX King motorcycle, one unit of Vivo brand cellphone, Rp1.700.000 cash, clothes, helmets, small bags filled with keris, rosary bracelets, to Mulia motorcycle vest numbered 217.
After a medical examination, the victim’s body was buried at the Al-Mujahidin Mulia Mosque at 10.50 WIT. Next, the body was flown using Alda Air plane to Sentani, before being sent to his hometown in Probolinggo, East Java, to be buried.
Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., revealed that from the results of the initial investigation, there is a strong suspicion that the shooting was carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
“This suspicion is also reinforced by their statement that circulated on social media, where TPNPB Kodap XXVIII Yambi led by Tenggamati Enumbi claimed responsibility for the shooting. The team will continue to investigate and verify the truth of the claim,” he explained.
Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissaris of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., added that the joint apparatus is still on full alert to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
“We ensure that public safety remains a priority. The team in the field will continue to work to provide a sense of security for the residents of Puncak Jaya,” he said.
Until now, the joint apparatus is still investigating and deepening the incident.
