Timika – In an effort to strengthen ties with the community while also supporting the local economy, personnel from the Public Relations Task Force (Satgas Humas) of Operation Damai Cartenz 2025 carried out a humanist activity with fruit vendors on Bhayangkara Street, Timika, on Wednesday (5/3/2025).
This initiative was led by Police Brigadier Second Class (Bripda) Irgi Alamsyah and Bripda Alfesa Hafiz Bagaskara as a form of concern for small business owners. In addition to directly engaging with the vendors, they also purchased goods as a gesture of support for the local economy.
The Head of the Public Relations Task Force of Operation Damai Cartenz 2025, Cheif Commisioner of Police (Kombes Pol.) Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., explained that this activity is part of a humanist approach strategy that the Task Force continues to implement in building close relationships with the community.
“We want to show that the presence of police officers in Timika is not only about maintaining security but also about being part of the community, ready to support and assist, especially small business owners,” said Cheif Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo.
Meanwhile, Mama Maria Wenda, one of the fruit vendors at the location, expressed her happiness with the visit from the police personnel who showed their concern for small traders.
“We are very happy because the police came, bought our goods, and spoke kindly with us. Usually, people are afraid when they see the police, but today we feel much closer. Hopefully, activities like this will continue,” said Mama Maria Wenda.
Throughout the event, the situation remained safe and conducive. Vendors warmly welcomed the interaction with the Public Relations Task Force personnel and hoped that similar activities would continue as a show of support for the community, particularly small business owners in Timika.
