Jayapura- Head of Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani said that an unknown person (OTK) had shot dead Andarias Tanna (44 years old), an honorary teacher who lived in Kago Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua.
The victim Andarias was shot on Tuesday (24/12) while at his kiosk or stall in Kimak Village, Ilaga District.
“Currently, the victim’s body has been evacuated to Makassar to be buried in his hometown in Toraja,” said Head of Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani.
It was said that members were still investigating the perpetrator of the shooting who killed the victim.
It is not yet known for sure who the perpetrator of the shooting is because it is still under investigation, said Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani.
It is known that before the shooting, the witness saw two suspicious people, one of whom took out a gun from behind his shirt and shot through the gap in the kiosk board and hit the victim.
One of the witnesses admitted to having seen the perpetrators before and after the shooting, and had even been threatened with a pistol that he was carrying.
The witness had pleaded with the OTK by saying “don’t kill me, I have children”, and the perpetrators immediately fled towards Jalan Kimak.
Another witness admitted that after hearing the sound of gunfire, he immediately ran to the Puncak Police to report the incident and when he arrived at the scene the perpetrators were no longer there and the victim had died from a gunshot wound to the left chest.
