Pangkogabwilhan III Affirms Violence Against Indigenous Papuans Must Stop

Timika – Violence by unknown persons (OTK) against indigenous Papuans (OAP) is still occurring today and must be stopped.

Pangkogabwilhan III, Lieutenant General TNI Richard T H Tampubolon in a release on Sunday (15/10/2023) said that there were still efforts by certain parties to disrupt the security situation in Papua.

“How can it be possible in the name of fighting for the interests of the OAP community if their job is to torture, rape and kill sadistically by stabbing a knife into the genitals of OAP women,” said Pangkogabwilhan III.

According to Lt. Gen. TNI Richard T H Tampubolon, it is possible that the abuse carried out by the unknown OAP was part of the KKB Kodap XVI Yahukimo.

It is known that the location of the incident is the distribution area of ​​the KKB Kodap XVI Yahukimo and has always disturbed the OAP community.

Pangkogabwilhan III invites all elements of Papuan society to maintain security stability in Papua, so that improvements in welfare for the community, especially OAP, can be realized more quickly.

“TNI-Polri will continue to be committed to realizing a safe and peaceful Papua through firm and measurable law enforcement to create a prosperous, advanced and modern Papua,” he concluded.
