Jayapura- Carstensz Peaceful Ops 2023 personnel were blocked by a group of Unknown Persons (OTK) in Dogiyai when they were about to take a Carstensz Damai Ops member who was ill for treatment at Paniai Hospital. (13/7/2023.)

“That is true, there was an ambush and attack on members of the peaceful Carstensz at around 11.00 WIT.” said Donny.
He continued, “at that time, our members were accompanying their sick colleague to the Paniai hospital, in the middle of the road to be precise in Idakebo village. The northern Kamuu District, Dogiai, is suddenly ambushed by a group of seven unknown persons (OTK).
“When our members were about to respond to the ambush, by opening the car door, suddenly from behind one OTK threw an ax at the car which resulted in the glass breaking and one of our members being injured in the left temple by an axe.” continued the Head of Public Relations Task Force Peace Ops Cartenz.
Not only that, the seven OTKs also seized weapons but to no avail.
“As a result of this incident, there was also an attempt to seize weapons so urgently our members responded by shooting to disperse the OTK and pursuing it towards the mountain.” Donny added.
“From this incident, our members received injuries to their temples, back of the chest and back of the head as a result of being hit by a sharp weapon, there was also damage to the rear window of the car.” Close Cartenz Peace Public Relations Unit.
