Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 Secures Worship Services and Conducts Foot Patrols in Puncak

Puncak, Central Papua – As part of ongoing efforts to maintain security and public order, personnel from the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 conducted foot patrols while providing security for Christian worship services in Puncak Regency, Central Papua, on Monday (June 8, 2026).

The activities were focused on two churches, Bukit Sion Church and Santa Elizabeth Church, where security personnel were deployed to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for congregants attending worship services. The operation also aimed to strengthen relations between security forces and local communities.

During the activities, personnel carried out humanist patrols around the churches and surrounding areas. In addition to monitoring the security situation, officers engaged directly with residents and church members, fostering positive communication and strengthening public trust in security institutions.

The foot patrols proved effective in monitoring conditions on the ground while demonstrating the state’s commitment to protecting communities and ensuring the uninterrupted practice of religious activities.

Throughout the operation, the security situation around both Bukit Sion Church and Santa Elizabeth Church remained safe, orderly, and conducive.

The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that securing places of worship is part of the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to guaranteeing the public’s freedom to practice their religion safely and peacefully.

“Providing security for places of worship is part of our service to the community. We want to ensure that all worshippers can carry out their religious activities peacefully without any security disturbances. The presence of our personnel on the ground is also an important effort to maintain security and public order throughout Papua,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that a humanist approach would continue to be prioritized in every operational activity across the region.

“Through foot patrols and the security of worship services, our personnel not only maintain security but also build closer relationships with local communities. We hope that the synergy between security personnel, religious leaders, and community members will continue to grow in order to create a safe and peaceful environment,” he stated.

The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 remains committed to prioritizing preventive and humanist measures in maintaining security across Papua, including through routine patrols and the safeguarding of community activities, with the goal of fostering a peaceful, harmonious, and conducive environment throughout its areas of operation.
