The Chairman of the Papuan Youth Praesidium of the Tabi Region Urges to Maintain Jayapura Order

Jayapura- Chairman of the Papuan Youth Praesidium of the Tabi Region, Frans Reynold Thjoe, appealed to all the people, especially the youth in Jayapura City, to maintain order and peace in conveying their aspirations related to the Cenderawasih Makota burning incident, which was carried out by the Papua Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA)

In his statement, Frans Reynold Thjoe, who also serves as the Secretary of the Red and White Front of the Republic of Indonesia in Jayapura City, emphasized that he and the Papuan indigenous people felt very offended by the incident. However, he emphasized the importance of conveying aspirations peacefully and without anarchist actions.

“We have tried to protest and convey our aspirations directly to the relevant parties, we have even submitted the results to the Governor. Therefore, I appeal to all brothers and sisters who are planning to hold a demonstration to continue to act peacefully and orderly,” he said.

Furthermore, Frans Reynold Thjoe emphasized that the demonstration should be carried out purely from conscience, without any encouragement or interests of other parties. He rejects all forms of provocation that can cause chaos in the Jayapura City area.

“A few days ago there was a demonstration that led to anarchist action. For that, I hope something like that doesn’t happen again. The city of Jayapura is already very beautiful, let’s take care of the beauty and order that has been created,” he added.

Thjoe also emphasized that security apparatus such as police and army are not enemies of the community, but partners in maintaining order and security together. He hopes that the cooperation between the community and the apparatus will continue to be well established for the sake of peace in Jayapura City.

“If we convey our aspirations well and wisely, the authorities will also be together with us in voicing the matter to the authorities,” he said closing the statement with a message of peace.
