Jayapura, October 26, 2025 – A religious figure in Papua, Pastor Jones Wenda, appealed to all Papuan people to remain calm and not easily provoked by the incident of burning the Cenderawasih Bird Makota that happened some time ago.
In his statement, Pastor Jones Wenda emphasized that the problem has been handled by the Papua Provincial Government together with the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP) and is currently in the process of being resolved. He asked the public to entrust the handling of the case to the authorities.
“I beg all Papuan people not to be easily provoked and not to create conflict in this Land of Papua. Let us together maintain security and order so that Papua remains safe and peaceful in the development process,” said Pastor Wenda.
Furthermore, he reminded the public not to carry out demonstrations or other actions that have the potential to cause damage to the Papuan people themselves. According to him, peace and community unity are an important key to maintaining regional stability.
“This problem has been handled by the government, and we just have to wait for the decision from the MRP and the Papua Provincial Government. Therefore, let’s maintain each other’s security and order in Papua,” he added.
At the end of his statement, Pastor Jones Wenda conveyed prayers and hopes that peace would always accompany all Papuan people.
