Yahukimo, Pegunungan Papua — The atmosphere covered the evacuation process carried out by the joint team of the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz, the Papua Regional Police Brimob, the Yahukimo Police Station, and the 1715 Yahukimo Military area command. In the midst of threats and difficult terrain, the authorities managed to evacuate one survivor and a number of bodies of mine workers who were victims of the brutality of the Armed Criminal Group in Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency.
On Wednesday night (10/1/2025) around 22.30 WIT, the joint team found Yohanes Bouk alias Nando (22 years old), a mine worker who was still alive after five days of hiding in the forest. His condition was very weak, suffering from mixed malaria, and survived only with physical strength and determination to survive. When found, Nando was immediately taken to the Dekai Hospital to receive intensive medical treatment.
Not only saving survivors, the authorities also managed to evacuate three other bodies, namely Marselino Lumare (32), Yunus Agama (29), and Roberto Agama (37). Furthermore, on Thursday (10/2/2025), the joint team evacuated two additional bodies from the First Time Excavator Camp, Andika Pratama and Fikram Amiman respectively.
Thus, the total number of victims who were successfully evacuated by the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz so far has reached 7 people who died and 5 people survived.

Head of Operation Peace Cartenz Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that firm action will continue to be taken against Armed Criminal Group that disturbs the community.
“We will not give room for the perpetrators. Law enforcement will be carried out professionally and measuredly. The security stability and safety of Yahukimo residents is our top priority,” said Brigadier General of Police Faizal.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., reminded the public to stay calm and trust the apparatus.
“We understand the anxiety felt by the residents, but I emphasize that the authorities are always present to protect the community. Our commitment is clear: keeping Papua safe and protecting every citizen without exception,” said Adarma.
The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz stated that this evacuation operation is not only a security mission, but also a humanitarian mission. Search and surveillance efforts in Seradala District are still being carried out to ensure that no more victims are left behind, as well as narrowing the scope of KKB in the region.
