Jayapura, September 17, 2025 – The Chairman of the Indonesian Pastors Association (API) Papua Regional Board, Rev. Jerry C. Rahakbauw, has called on all believers to respond to the Constitutional Court’s (MK) ruling on the disputed re-vote with spiritual maturity and gratitude.
According to him, whatever decision the Court delivers is part of a legitimate legal process and cannot be altered through public rejection. He urged the faithful not to be easily swayed by provocations that could stir unrest.
“As servants and people of God, we have the responsibility to bring God’s Shalom to earth. Therefore, let us unite our hearts and accept whatever decision is handed down with thanksgiving. We must not fall into actions that harm others or contradict the Word,” Rev. Jerry emphasized in Jayapura on Wednesday (Sept 17, 2025).
He further highlighted the importance of the community’s role in safeguarding unity and peace, stressing that the Court’s ruling is final and binding. Any attempts to resist, he warned, would only risk dividing society.
“The Word of God clearly teaches us to give thanks in all circumstances. Therefore, let there be no actions that damage our brotherhood. Whatever God has allowed through this decision is the best for all of us,” he added.
Rev. Jerry concluded by urging believers to remain prayerful, calm, and exemplary in bringing peace and harmony to the people of Papua.
