Jayapura – Mathius D. Fakiri, a Muslim figure in Papua, invited the people of Papua to continue maintaining brotherhood and strengthening peace in the Land of Cenderawasih. This call was conveyed during the Idul Fitri celebration at the Al-Aqsha Sentani Mosque on Monday (31/3/2025).
“We celebrate our victory today, but let’s remain humble. Sharing with those in need is a real manifestation of silaturahmi that we must continue to maintain. Papua has the potential to become a miniature of tolerance in Indonesia,” he said.
He also expressed his gratitude for the smooth running of Ramadan worship by Muslims, including in Papua. Furthermore, Mathius Fakiri reminded of the importance of maintaining inter-religious harmony, which has long been the foundation of social life in Papua.
“I congratulate the entire community of Papua on the occasion of Idul Fitri. May the blessings of Ramadan continue to accompany us. Let’s strengthen our communication, share love, and build a more peaceful Papua,” he concluded.”
