Jayapura, Papua – In order to help people meet basic needs at affordable prices, PT PLN (Persero) prepares 1,000 cheap food packages through the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL). This program was carried out in Jayapura City and Regency, Papua, and received high enthusiasm from the community, especially in the midst of the momentum of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The food package provided consists of 5 kilograms of rice, 1 kilogram of granulated sugar, and 1 liter of cooking oil, which can be purchased for only Rp50,000. This assistance is expected to ease the burden of the community in meeting daily needs, especially for those in need.
PLN General Manager of the Papua and West Papua Region Parent Unit, Rizky Mochamad, explained that this program is part of PLN’s commitment to provide more benefits to the community, not only in the electricity aspect but also in the social and economic fields.
“PLN is not only present to ensure reliable electricity supply for Papuan people, but also plays a role in helping their welfare through various social programs. Through this activity, we want to ensure that people can obtain basic necessities at a more affordable price, especially in this blessed month of Ramadan,” said Rizky Mochamad.
He also added that PLN will continue to present various other social programs to improve the welfare of the community, in line with the principles of sustainability and social care which is part of the company’s responsibility.
The presence of this program was very well received by the people of Jayapura. Many residents admit that they feel helped, especially in the midst of economic conditions that are still full of challenges.
“Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful to be able to get this food package at a low price. This really helps us, especially in the month of Ramadan where the need for basic materials increases,” said one of the beneficiaries.
In addition, a number of public figures also appreciated PLN’s steps in helping the community. They hope that similar programs can continue to be carried out in various other areas so that more and more residents can feel the benefits.
The TJSL PLN program is not just a social action, but also a form of corporate concern in building public welfare. With this cheap food aid, it is hoped that the community can be more helped in facing economic challenges, especially ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
In the future, PLN is committed to continue to carry out various social programs that have a positive impact on the people of Papua and West Papua. Through collaboration with various parties, PLN will continue to strive to present programs that are not only beneficial in the short term, but also able to improve the welfare of the community sustainably.
