Jayapura, Papua – Melianus Asso, Chairman of the Catholic Youth Organization of Papua Province, has urged the people of Papua to actively participate in the upcoming Simultaneous Regional Elections (Pilkada), emphasizing that the election is a celebration of democracy and a fundamental right for the people of each region.
“As citizens, it is our responsibility to exercise our right to vote, and I encourage all Papuans to choose their leaders based on their conscience, selecting candidates who will guide Papua towards a better future,” Asso stated.
He further highlighted the significance of each vote, noting that a single vote can shape the next five years of development for both cities and provinces. “Do not abstain from voting; your vote is crucial for the future of Papua. This is a chance for the people to shape the future of our land,” he added.
Asso also called for a peaceful, secure, and calm election process, urging citizens not to be swayed by rumors or divisive issues. “Let us approach this election with peace, and remember that our votes will determine the future of Papua,” he concluded.
