Timika- The Joint TNI-Polri Team from the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations Task Force succeeded in arresting and securing the DPO of the Nduga Armed Criminal Group (KKB), Rife Kerebea, alias Erik, alias Trisna Telenggen, in Nduga Regency, Central Papua, on Saturday, 17 August 2024. This arrest occurred at 04.30 WIT.
Head of Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., confirmed the arrest.
Brigadier General Pol. Dr. When confirmed, Faizal Ramadhani explained that Rife Kerebea was a member of the Nduga KKB led by Egianus Kogoya and was involved in various criminal acts in Yahukimo and Nduga Regencies.
“DPO KKB Nduga Rife Kerebea Alias Erik Alias Trisna Telenggen, is KKB Nduga led by Egianus Kogoya and was involved in a number of criminal acts that occurred in Yahukimo Regency and also Nduga Regency,” said Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Public Relations Task Force, Police Commissioner. Dr. Bayu Suseno, S.H., S.I.K., M.M., M.H., added that this arrest was made based on the police report LP/B/47/X/2023/SPKT/POLRES YAHUKIMO/POLDA PAPUA, dated 16 October 2023, regarding the murder of gold panners in Kali EI , Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency, as well as People Wanted List (DPO) Number: DPO/30/XI/2023/Reskrim, dated 08 November 2023.
“We arrested DPO KKB Nduga Rife Kerebea alias Erick alias Trisna Telenggen based on the police report that has been published and also the wanted list (DPO),” explained Police Commissioner. Dr. Bayu Suseno.
This arrest was made after the Joint TNI-Polri Team from the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force succeeded in finding out the whereabouts of the KKB DPO in Nduga Regency. The team moved quickly in the early morning and managed to arrest Rife Kerebea and take him to the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Command Post at the Nduga Police for further examination.
Rife Kerebea’s identity was revealed by Police Commissioner. Dr. Bayu Suseno is as follows: born in Kenyam on December 25 1998, Nduga tribe, Christian, and works as Bamuskam of Sagapu I Village, Krepkuri District, Nduga Regency and lives on Jalan Baru Timika, Kenyam District Pharmacy Warehouse, Nduga Regency.
Police Commissioner. Dr. Bayu Suseno also explained Rife Kerebea’s involvement in several criminal acts, including:
- Murder of gold panners in Kali EI, Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency, on October 16 2023.
- Theft of firearms from Brimob members in Napua District, Jayawijaya Regency, on June 18 2022, with the role of liaison between the perpetrator and KKB Egianus Kogoya.
- A series of murders in Nogolait Village, Nduga Regency, on July 16 2022.
- Plane shooting at Kali Brasa, Yahukimo Regency, on 16 and 17 February 2024.
“KKB Nduga Rife Kerebea Alias Erick Alias Trisna Telenggen also has an important role in the KKB Kodap III Ndugama group led by Egianus Kogoya,” added the Head of the Public Relations Task Force.
According to Police Commissioner. Dr. Bayu Suseno, KKB Rife Kerebea was once part of the KKB led by Egianus Kogoya and was headquartered in the Alguru Village area in Krepkuri District, Nduga Regency. He is tasked with monitoring the movements of TNI-Polri officers and helping distribute logistics to KKB headquarters and monitoring posts, and often provides advice to the KKB group.
The Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force emphasized that it would continue to carry out law enforcement efforts against the KKB which disturbed security in the jurisdiction of the Papua Regional Police, so that criminals could be held accountable for their actions before the law.
