Papua- The Lanny Jaya indigenous community in the Papua Mountains region supports the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) smoothly, safely and peacefully.
“We hope that the implementation of the regional elections in November 2024 will not become an event for bloodshed, therefore we urge the entire community to continue to support the democratic party,” said Chair of the Lanny Jaya Indigenous Community Institution (LMA) Tias Urnom Kogoya.
Tias Urnom Kogoya stated that regional elections are a democratic celebration that is held every five years and this is also one way to make Lanny Jaya Regency better, so that regional elections must be interpreted with joy and calm.
“I ensure that the people of Lanny Jaya will support the government and security forces to hold the regional elections safely and peacefully,” said Tias.
He said that he ensured that the local Lany Jaya indigenous people were committed to participating in maintaining the security of the regional elections which are currently in progress.
“We also ask law enforcement officials to act firmly against individuals who want to thwart the holding of the regional elections,” he concluded.
